Offsite Visits

Off-site visits are an integral part of our provision; they develop confidence and resilience and prepare students for adult life.  The Meadows follows Sandwell’s policy and procedures for off-site activities and adventures using EVOLVE to assess, track and monitor. Tina Carter is our dedicated Educational Visit Coordinator (EVC); staff are Visit Leader trained and every visit is carefully planned and risk-assessed. We offer regular opportunities to every student across school, including off-site sports and visits across the local community.

Almost three hundred approved offsite visits took place during the 2018-19 academic year including: residential visits for Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards plus a taster residential for Key Stage 3; a visit to the Houses of Parliament SEND day in London; Theatre and cinema trips and Legoland.  We have also supported weekly offsite visits to local leisure facilities and parks, retail centres, swimming offsite for formal learners, and allotment visits for all key stages.
