DLA: Making an Effective Claim

We have added an additional workshop to our January February workshop programme for anyone parent of a special needs child who has to fill in a DLA form.  The forms are complex and this workshop will help you to understand the rules around claiming DLA for a child, how to fill in the claim form effectively, and what to do if you want to challenge a decision.

Date: Wednesday, February 7, 10am-12.30pm

Venue: Parkhouse Child Development Centre, Park Road, Balsall Heath, B11 4 BJ

If you would like to book a place on this workshop:  Email: westmids.office@contact.org.uk     Please note, places for this workshop are limited to 15.

There are some places still remaining for our workshops on:

Making Decisions for an Adult Child: The Law (Selly Oak, Thursday, Jan 25)

This workshop will be delivered by Ruth Moore of Slater Gordon Lawyers and is aimed at parents of special needs children who might need to make decisions on behalf of their children when they reach adulthood.  The workshop will explain the law and how it relates to people with cognitive disability; and explain your option and how to make professionals listen.

Education Health and Care Plans: Getting the Content Right. (Birmingham, Wed Jan 31)

This workshop will be delivered by Gurvinder Kaur, a solicitor with Access Legal who specialises in SEND education issues.  She will look at how parents can make sure they get the content of an EHC plan right and discuss what parents can expect at the annual review process.
