In the Sixth Form, skills for independent living such as communication, money, practical life-skills and personal development are reinforced throughout every aspect of our person centred curriculum. 

Students study a number of courses linked to accreditation from across a wide range of ability levels: from ASDAN Personal Progress Units; OCR certificates and Entry level qualifications to Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications. 

We have a safe learning environment where we focus on transition into adulthood through pupil centred learning that is underpinned by ‘Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning’ (SEAL). 

The aims of the Sixth Form are not just about developing our students’ academic skills and qualifications but also about the transition into adulthood and an increasingly independent life. We ensure that all learners have access to Transition opportunities, college and additional provider taster days and community enhancement opportunities. 

We believe that in order for our students to reach their full potential, they need to be allowed to access a range of relevant community settings and learning environments. The nurturing of individual interests and abilities, including personal curiosity and enjoyment are keys to fulfilling personal life goals. 

We endeavour to provide trips and experiences which will enrich our students’ lives and allow them to gain a greater sense of the world around them as well as contributing to their community. Provide opportunities for our students gain suitable and fulfilling work experiences e.g administration, customer service and horticulture within a range of community settings.
