Delayed Start to the New Academic Year - September 2025
21 May 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
Re: Delayed Start to the New Academic Year — Opening of Additional School Site
I am writing to share some exciting news and to ask for your understanding and support regarding a small adjustment to the start of the next academic year.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality education and care for our students, the school will be opening an additional site in September 2025. This expansion will allow us to meet demands for places by increasing capacity and, importantly, offer enhanced opportunities, tailored environments, and improved resources for some of our post 16 students.
Over the summer holiday, the new site will undergo significant development and preparation to ensure it meets the specialist needs of our learners. However, due to the scale of work required, and in order to ensure a smooth and safe transition for staff and students, we will need to delay the start of the new academic year by one week.
This extra time will allow staff to move equipment, set up classrooms, and ensure all resources are in place and ready to welcome students into a well-prepared learning environment. Classes at the current site will also require preparation to receive our new intake, which is likely to exceed 60 students, compared with the usual figure of 20. The time will also allow for mandatory training to be provided to the significant intake of new staff, ensuring their readiness to support students appropriately.
The new start date for students will now be Monday 8th September 2025, instead of the previously planned date of Monday 1st September 2025.
We fully appreciate that this change may affect your family's plans, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we hope you will understand that this short delay is essential to ensure the very best start to the year in a safe, fully equipped, and supportive environment.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the school office or speak with a member of the Governing Board.
