Welcome to 4:3

Leo is class teacher, and our support practitioners are Kerry S, Polly and Kerry C.

Our curriculum is heavily based on our EHCP targets as well as ASDAN accreditation, which we ensure is selected to suit the needs and development of our learners.

We have a very, sensory focused classroom due to the nature of our children and use multi-modal communication and multi-sensory approaches in all activities. This is to ensure we get the best engagement and responses from our learners, which will support their development and happiness at school. With input from the speech and language team, physiotherapy and medical, we are able to tailor each student’s learning to suit their own specific needs and preferences.

We particularly focus on building communication skills, tolerances, anticipation skills and trust through our explorative sessions, to ensure everyone is given every opportunity to shine in our classroom. Intensive interaction feeds heavily into our daily routines, as well as choice making and peer interaction.

We particularly love waking up our senses with sensology, sensory stories and food technology, as well as sharing some different experiences in our drama therapy sessions. Every moment for this class is important, which is why we also focus as practitioners, on free time, such as the journey into the school building, lunch and break periods and our home school diaries, to ensure we never miss a moment of our learners’ journey.
