Religious Education (RE)

At The Meadows School, Religious Education (RE) plays a vital role in developing pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural growth (SMSC). Our RE curriculum is carefully adapted to meet the diverse needs of our learners, offering meaningful, age- and stage-appropriate experiences that promote curiosity, respect, and reflection.

We follow the Sandwell Agreed Syllabus, which provides a broad and balanced framework for exploring world religions and non-religious worldviews. Learning is delivered in an inclusive, inquiry-led way, using sensory activities, artefact handling, storytelling, and discussion.

Through RE, pupils learn about:

  • Key beliefs and values from different faiths and worldviews.
  • Respect for diversity and the importance of tolerance.
  • Reflection on their own feelings, choices, and sense of belonging.

Our curriculum fosters confidence, empathy, and understanding of others, preparing learners to engage positively in modern Britain.

Long-Term Plans

Our RE curriculum is sequenced across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 to build knowledge, reflection, and respect for a range of religions and worldviews.
